Smart Search Field in Safari (macOS)

Press Command + L to put the cursor in the Smart Search field and select what is in it.

What it does

Safari calls its address bar the Smart Search field, because it takes both web addresses and search words. With the content selected, what you type replaces it. Under the field Safari suggests pages from your bookmarks and history, open tabs and searches. Escape puts the address of the page back into the field.
