Edit Cell in Excel (Windows)

Press F2 to edit the active cell, with the cursor at the end of its content.

What it does

Without edit mode, typing replaces the whole content of a cell. In edit mode the content stays and the arrow keys move inside it, so you can fix one character or a part of a formula. While a formula is edited, Excel outlines the cells it refers to in color. Enter keeps the change and Escape drops it.
