Quick Mask Mode in Photoshop (macOS)
Press Q to switch Quick Mask mode on or off.
What it does
In Quick Mask mode a selection is shown as a colored overlay that you can paint. Painting with black adds to the masked area, painting with white takes away from it, and a soft brush gives a soft edge. Leaving the mode turns the overlay back into a selection outline. It is a way to refine a selection with brushes instead of selection tools.
