Selection Tool in Illustrator (macOS)
Press V to pick the Selection tool.
What it does
The Selection tool selects whole objects and groups. A click selects one, dragging a box selects everything it touches. The bounding box around the selection moves, scales and rotates it. It treats a group as a single thing; to reach a part inside a group, double-click to enter it, or use the Direct Selection tool.
