Close Tab in Terminal (macOS)

Press Command + W to close the current tab.

What it does

Closing the tab ends the shell that runs in it. If a command is still running, Terminal asks before it closes, because the command would be stopped. When the window has a single tab, the same keys close the window. Whether a shell that has finished closes its tab by itself is set for each profile, under Shell.
