Outline View in Illustrator (macOS)

Press Command + Y to switch between the preview and the outline view.

What it does

Outline view shows every object as a thin line without fill, stroke or effects. It reveals what the preview hides: objects behind others, stray points, paths without any paint. Selecting is easier too, because a click only catches the path itself. Complex artwork also redraws sooner in this view. The same keys bring the full preview back.
