Clipping Mask in Illustrator (macOS)

Press Command + 7 to make a clipping mask from the selection.

What it does

The object on top of the selection becomes the mask, and everything under it shows only inside its shape. The masked artwork is hidden, not cut, so you can still move it behind the mask or release the mask later. The top object loses its fill and stroke when it becomes the mask. The command needs two or more selected objects.
